Asbestos Support and Campaign Group

The Asbestos Support and Campaign Group (ASCG) is a partnership between TUC Northern, trade unions, West View Advice and Resource Centre, Macmillan Cancer Support, Thompsons Solicitors and Beecham Peacock Solicitors.

We offer FREE, confidential information, advice and support to anyone with an asbestos-related or industrial disease in the North East, Tees Valley and North Cumbria.

Over the last five years, the ASCG has supported 668 clients diagnosed with an asbestos-related illness, helping to secure a total of over £11 million in additional income for those supported.

For those suffering from Mesothelioma, Asbestosis, Pleural Thickening; Lung Cancer or any other occupational cancer our service can help with:

Welfare benefits and support; applying for benefits; appealing against benefit decisions; health costs such as prescriptions and travel to hospital; applying for local authority financial support and charitable grants; requesting a blue disabled parking badge
Independent legal advice and representation

Easy Access

You will have access to a specialist personal advisor who will be there to support you through the various services we offer.

Appointments can be held at a patient's home or over the telephone and will usualls take place within two weeks for the first contact or referral.
