Commenting on a Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) report on forced labour in the UK food industry published today (Tuesday), TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber said:

'This report further exposes the rank exploitation in the food sector.

'But with too many ministers who think the vital protections that vulnerable workers need are no more than red tape and with workplace inspections also being cut, the problem is only likely to get worse, not better.'
