Commenting on new inflation figures published today (Wednesday) by the Office for National Statistics, which show CPI inflation remaining at 2.4%, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:
“Inflation is still eating up the lion’s share of pay growth. It’s not good enough, we need to get pay rising faster.
“The government could help by giving working people more power in pay negotiations. Unions should have the freedom to enter every workplace to negotiate fair pay rises. And insecure workers need new protections so they have the security to demand fair pay.”
