Unison members at Birmingham City Council are continuing to strike and take action in a long running dispute in the Home Care enablement which has seen unworkable shift patterns and pay reduction to some of the lowest paid, mainly women members, proposed by the Council.

Some 17 days of strike action has already been taken by the members who remain determined to see off these attacks on their work life balance and terms and conditions.

In light of that a further strike rally and demonstration has been arranged and is being held on Saturday 15th September in Victoria Square, Birmingham assembling at 12 noon. Please do come along and show your support and solidarity with the Home Care Workers of Birmingham.

Messages of support can be sent to Caroline Johnson at caroline.johnson@birminghamunison.co.uk, Frances O’Grady has already sent a message on behalf of the TUC. If you would like to invite the strikers to your meetings to show support, again please contact Caroline who can make the necessary arrangements.

Anybody who has ever taken strike action will know that every message of support means so much to those taking part, please do send your support and come along to the rally on 15th September.
