About this Role

The CSP is the trade union and educational, professional organisation for the UK’s 59,000 chartered physiotherapists, support workers and students; and one of the largest representative bodies in healthcare.

Working closely with all members of the Employment Relations and Union Services (ERUS) team, you will support the continued development of CSP, as an effective trade union. This will involve recruiting and supporting workplace activists and members and organising and delivering workplace meetings and activities to support and engage members with the organizing agenda.

You will be ideally suited to this role if you have previous organisational experience within a trade union, or equivalent expertise within another organisation. You will be able to use your experience, knowledge and skills to help realise CSP organising strategy, participating fully in operational and strategic planning and evaluating the outcome of activities.

An excellent communicator with confident and credible presentation skills, you will have a good understanding of the role of workplace representatives and the particular issues for a trade union and professional body. You will also need to have the sensitivity and skills in facilitation to enable members to find their own solutions to workplace issues.

You will also have a broad understanding of current government policy on Health and Social Care and its potential impact on trade unions and their membership across the four countries.

Our Values

At the CSP our goal is to create a culture which is characterised by innovation, respect, encouragement, passion and teamwork.  We all strive for continuous improvement and to be the best at everything we do.  We aspire to work in a way that embodies our values of learning, courage, inclusive and integrity.  Our shared values are part of our organisational DNA and reflect the expectations we have of ourselves and others. They guide what we do and how we do it to have the greatest impact for our members.
