About this Role

The CSP is the trade union and educational, professional organisation for the UK’s 59,000 registered physiotherapists, support workers and students. We are a member-led organisation governed by an elected Council.

Our goal is to transform the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities by empowering our members and exerting our influence. Our ambition is for physiotherapy to transform lives, maximise independence and empower populations.

The CSP’s values are courage, integrity, inclusivity and learning. These values run through all that we do.

The Public Affairs Lead for England role is primarily responsible for influencing on behalf of the CSP politicians, civil servants and opinion formers in England, with a particular focus on Parliamentary engagement.

The role is part of the CSP’s Policy Team with team members in London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast offices.

To fill this role, the CSP is looking for a proactive, motivated individual, with a background in influencing public policy and a passion to improve healthcare.

In this role, the confidence and skills to spot opportunities, initiate and nurture high level relationships and work in collaboration with others will be critical.

The post is likely to appeal to an individual from a professional body/trade union or voluntary sector background, with an interest in using public affairs activity to bring about change.

Our Values
At the CSP our goal is to create a culture that is characterised by innovation, respect, encouragement, passion and teamwork.  We all strive for continuous improvement and to be the best at everything we do.  We aspire to work in a way that embodies our values of learning, courage, inclusive and integrity.  Our shared values are part of our organisational DNA and reflect the expectations we have of ourselves and others. They guide what we do and how we do it to have the greatest impact for our members.
