About this Role

Equity is the UK trade union representing performers and other creative workers from across the spectrum of the entertainment, creative and cultural industries.

We are recruiting for a Policy Officer in our Campaigns, Policy and Communications Department.

The Policy Officer works under the leadership of the Deputy for the General Secretary. In coordination with the department and senior staff, the Policy Officer is responsible for managing, supporting and delivering the policy, political, parliamentary, lobbying and campaigning work of the union, across the UK parliament, devolved administrations of the UK, and within the broader union movement.

We are looking for someone with demonstrable commitment to the trade union and labour movement, and the energy, passion and expertise to develop the union’s policy and lobbying work in line with the vision of a new General Secretary and Deputy for the General Secretary.

You will need to be highly motivated, with excellent communication skills, and able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. You will have an understanding of the demands of working to organise and support members within a political environment, working in line with the Union’s democratic structures, and operating within trade union law and the Union’s own Rules.
