About this Role

This vacancy has come about due to temporary backfill arrangements. We think this is an ideal opportunity for someone to join us to develop skills and knowledge. It will also provide a real chance to get involved in delivering our work plan and to make a real and significant contribution to empowering people in their communities and workplaces.

We’d like to encourage colleagues from our affiliates and partners to apply. Because of the short-term nature of the contract, we’d like that successful person to start as soon as possible*.

During the contract, the focus for this post will be:

Campaigns and events: you’ll support this by organising events and activities on young workers and tackling racism. The work will include arranging meetings, arranging speakers and other coordinating campaign activities.

Policy work: you’ll help draft a range of documents including TUC submissions to stakeholders and responses to consultations. The areas will mostly be around devolution covering skills, public services and employment standards.

Communications: you’ll assist in drafting press releases, coordinating interviews, producing our regional newsletter and updating our website and social media.

Other areas: depending on your skills and experience, you may also have an opportunity to lead of a workplan project.

*Because of the short length of contract, we’d suggest that you initially approach your line manager or HR department for support if you’re thinking of applying as a secondee.
