About this Role

NAHT is looking for an experienced trade union organiser who is able to help drive our organising and campaigns priorities in Wales helping to strengthen our collective voice in line with Unions national strategic aims

Based in our Cardiff Office, the role will support the delivery of NAHT’s organising and campaigns strategy and provide limited casework support within Wales as directed by the Director Wales.

The job holder will work with the Director Wales, the Regional Officer team and the National Secretary to support the strategic aims and objectives on the national union, Growth, Community and Voice. Supporting the delivery of local and national campaigns you will also provide administrative, communications and IT systems to support our local officials. 

In addition, you will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of our Cardiff office, including the facilitation of the maintenance of the building, IT systems and Health & Safety requirements.

Person specification 

We are looking for a dynamic individual with demonstrable experience of working within the trade union organising model, aimed at revitalising, supporting and developing branches as well as experience of providing support and advice in respect of disciplinaries, grievances and other employment matters.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their ability to work within the structures of a national union, have knowledge of the political and union movement in Wales and promote the ethos of the collective approach. 

Experience of campaigning and developing successful recruitment strategies are essential.

The successful candidate must be flexible, able to travel and stay away overnight as required.

The ability to drive and a valid driving licence is also essential for this role.
