We are looking for a Learning Organiser to work with our network of Union Learning Representatives (ULRs) and Branch Learning Coordinators (BLCs) to deliver the aims and objectives of the PCS Union Learning Project in the Yorkshire & Humberside and North East Hub.
The post-holder will be based in the PCS Leeds office and must be willing and able to travel throughout the Yorkshire & Humberside and North East region. Occasional travel elsewhere in the UK will be required.
A key part of the role will involve working with PCS lay structures, project partners and Union Learning in arranging the delivery of courses and development opportunities. You will also be responsible for project report writing and achieving project targets and provide support for bargaining in groups and national branches in regards to one of the areas of specialism:
The successful candidate will have good general knowledge with regard to the work and issues facing trade unions, along with an understanding of the support and development needs of their representatives and members. They will be further familiar with the role of Union Learning and the current lifelong learning agenda together with the concerns and needs of adult learners. Excellent communication, organisational and project management skills are necessary, together with an ability to prioritise and work well as part of a team or independently.
Staff/PCS Members should agree the period of release with Line Managers/employing department prior to application. Anyone currently deployed in a temporary position within PCS will be required to relinquish that position if successful at interview.
