Based (normally) at our London head office, your main duties will be to deliver the full range of legal services, including oversight and management of members' casework; acting as legal adviser on corporate and industrial matters and developing and delivering UCU's data protection strategy and policy. You will identify and lead on strategic casework. There is a small team to manage.
As a qualified solicitor or barrister, with 7 years' experience in contentious and non-contentious employment law (including discrimination, disciplinary and grievance matters, industrial relations and litigation), you will have significant experience of working in a politicised environment in a trade union context. You will also need to have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to lead and develop individuals.
