The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic work programmes for the sections in consultation with and under the direction of the Maritime Coordinator, the General Secretary and Sections’ governing bodies. The role will also include establishing methodologies and processes for recruitment, training and development of the sections team as well as having the overarching operational responsibility of the sections and allocating appropriate resources. Another crucial part to the role will be to lead project planning in conjunction with affiliated unions and the development and implementation of sections work plans that reflects ITF global strategic directions and priorities.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of effective leadership at a senior management level, including developing and leading successful implementation of key organisational strategies within a trade union or in a social movements context. Furthermore, you will have demonstrable high level understanding of global political and environmental issues that impact on fishers. Excellent communication skills including fluency in English and strong presenting, advocacy, debating and report writing skills are a must. Due to the nature of the organisation and the role, knowledge of a second language would be an advantage.

This role offers a starting salary of £70,729.00 per annum, plus a non-performance related guaranteed bonus equating to 1/12th of your annual salary.
