About this Role

Can you help us shape the future of work?
The world of work is changing fast. Covid, climate change, new technology and changing economic fortunes are all affecting how we work and the security of the jobs we do. Prospect Union is looking for a talented digital communications professional to help deliver dynamic, engaging digital campaigns fit for the challenges our members face in our creative industries sector, Bectu.

Our members, both employed and freelance, want to get on at work. Our digital campaigns are about creating opportunities for our members to tell their stories and influence the decisions that affect them at work.  With over 40,000 members in the Bectu sector of Prospect, we aim to get the best deal for them by using evidence and building partnerships – while never being scared to call employers out when they get things wrong.

About this role
Reporting to our Senior Communications Officer in the Bectu Sector, you will show your creative flair in creating digital content for a range of channels.

You will need to:

  • Have a track record in planning and delivering successful digital campaigns.
  • Be able to produce and deploy compelling content using organic and paid social media on a range of platforms including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, Instagram and use associated tools.
  • Skills to produce visual online content using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator are essential. Video and audio production and editing skills (for example using Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition) are desirable. You will have experience of using a modern Content Management System to edit and post to our website, and experience of Wordpress is desirable.
  • Be organised and proactive in developing a range of engaging content to deliver on organisational and team objectives.
  • Be full of ideas for marketing campaigns that promote the Bectu brand and membership and able to analyse the success of campaigns critically so we can maximise our impact.
  • Work closely with staff and members across the organisation to source content.
  • Be able to analyse and refine Prospect’s digital campaign strategy using appropriate testing and analytics as well as shaping paid online marketing.
  • Have a strong interest in analytics – being able to understand and interpret data, explain it to colleagues, and use it to inform future campaigns.
  • Want to take the next step in your career in communications, building on a background or interest in digital, public affairs or campaigning.
  • Want to make the world of work better for everyone through promoting membership and the values of the trade union movement.

We offer a range of benefits for our staff including our member deals and discounts, flexible and family friendly working policies and access to a generous defined benefit pension scheme.
Diversity is important to us, so we welcome applications from all sections of the community and from within and outside of the trade union movement.
