We are now seeking to recruit a Clerical Administrative Assistant (maternity leave cover) to join our team in the Yorkshire and Humber region, in Doncaster. This is an exciting opportunity to be a crucial part of the team in National Education Union in the Yorkshire and Humber Region. Prospective applicants are advised this role is a combined role to cover two maternity leave (fixed term contract), so will be full-time until 3 August 2021 and then will become part-time (0.6 FTE) until 5 November 2021.
The successful candidates will join a small, busy team dealing with telephone and email enquiries, providing secretarial and administrative support for the professional staff, including a solicitor, and administering and servicing training courses and events.
They will also need to have good typing speeds and skills in using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, as well as being able to use and maintain office database systems.
The tasks required will include arranging and preparing for a variety of meetings, courses and events, maintaining databases, producing and processing correspondence and statistics and dealing with telephone and email enquiries.
We are looking for applicants who can work flexibly as part of a team with good organisational skills, who are able to prioritise, to work under pressure and at times to use their own initiative. The ability to deal with telephone calls in a confident and professional manner is essential.
In addition to salary, we offer good conditions including a non-superannuable luncheon allowance currently set at £1035, 33 days annual leave plus Christmas closure days and a final salary pension scheme. Salary and benefits are pro-rata for part-time applicants.
