About this Role

Central, East and West Suffolk branches of UNISON are currently recruiting a Branch Business Support Administrator to support the three branches with day-to-day office functions.

Successful candidates will bring their administrative experience and skills and support the branches to maintain membership records and extract data from them, process casework records, respond to queries from members, produce and distribute newsletters and leaflets, and update branch website and social media. 

By providing professional administrative support the successful postholder will assist the branches to recruit new members in local government and other employers across Suffolk, develop new activists, and drive forward our campaigns within UNISON objectives.

The successful candidate will be an experienced team player, have good communication and time management skills, including the ability to organise their  own workload and effectively manage their  priorities. You will need to undertake a range of business support duties to support our members and activists including often working to tight deadlines and being responsible for updating and maintaining accurate and confidential records.

To undertake this role, you must have good interpersonal and IT skills, excellent administrative and organisational skills and a good understanding and knowledge of the Microsoft teams, Excel and Microsoft word.

You will need to be able to travel within the geographical location of Suffolk and on occasions elsewhere for meetings/training as required. You will be required to live within reasonable travelling distance of the area you are asked to cover. The post holder will be based in the UNISON office in Ipswich, though may be asked to work from home following COVID related guidance.
