The UNISON Barking, Havering and Brentwood Health Branch is currently recruiting for a Branch Organiser.
UNISON Barking, Havering and Brentwood Health Branch represents members working in healthcare across the London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest, as well as workplaces in Basildon, Brentwood and Thurrock in Essex. The branch membership is largely made up of employees of the North East London NHS Foundation Trust, but also includes those working for a number of private contractors, GP surgeries and nursing homes. The branch covers a diverse range of occupational groups.

UNISON is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and resourceful individual to support our growing branch. The successful candidate will bring their experience and skills to recruit new members and develop new activists. Working with and supporting the branch to organise and build our branch.
To undertake this role you must have good communication and interpersonal skills, excellent administrative, IT and organisational skills and a good understanding and knowledge of the trade union movement.
You will need to be able to travel within the London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest, as well as to workplaces in Basildon, Brentwood and Thurrock in Essex.
Place of work: The branch office (currently located at Goodmayes Hospital). NB the role will involve regularly working throughout Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham and Havering as well as Basildon, Brentwood and Thurrock. Work related travel expenses will be reimbursed.
