About this Role

Purpose of role:

  • Under supervision, apply practical methods, techniques, work procedures and processes in support of the delivery of Lancashire UNISON Branch business.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with records management, both manual and electronic, including maintenance, retrieval, retention, and research using UNISON's electronic management systems.
  • Respond to, and resolve where appropriate, telephone, face to face, email and postal enquiries generated by internal and external colleagues, members, and visitors
  • Assist with the collection of data, membership information or other management information to produce reports
  • Support the Administration Manager with the servicing of meetings (including occasional evening meetings) and taking follow up action and/or checking progress of issues.
  • Assist with researching and collating information to produce reports for meetings of the Branch as required
  • Support with the administration of Branch recruitment and organising initiatives
  • Assist with the administration of recruitment and retention of members in the Branch
  • Support the Administration Manager with making travel arrangements – reserving accommodation, preparing itineraries, processing plans, maps and other information relating to visits
  • To ensure the accurate and secure maintenance of membership records, including case files etc. (ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
  • To participate in any agreed training considered relevant to the post
  • Collate, check, bank and distribute any financial information needed within the Branch eg invoices, cheques, BACS forms and cash
  • Support internal and external UNISON colleagues
  • Support the Branch with Campaign calling
