Message of support from DFID

The provision of Decent Work is a vital element in reducing global poverty.

We all aspire to good jobs at good wages, in safe and healthy conditions, allowing us to put our skills to work. The more people around the world who have such jobs, the closer we will be to achieving MDG1.

Decent Work also means respecting people's human rights at work, the provision of adequate social protection and encouraging social dialogue.

We all have a part to play in promoting Decent Work. It is vital that international institutions such as the ILO, World Bank and IMF work together on these issues.
