Global Action Day in solidarity with Iranian Workers - 6^th March

The ITUC, ITF and Amnesty have declared Thursday 6 March (international rail safety day) a global day of action in support of workers in Iran, and especially jailed trade union leader Mansour Osanloo (the leader of the Teheran bus workers' union and an ITF affiliate) and other trade unionists in jail.

In Britain, events are being organised by transport trade unions, the TUC, Amnesty International and the ITF which is based in London.

What do we want?

We want Mansour Osanloo and fellow trade unionist Mahmoud Salehi released immediately and unconditionally from prison. We are also demanding that fundamental workers' rights be respected in Iran, in accordance with the ILO core conventions.

What can you do?

Sign the online petition: Add your name to the Labourstart petition calling on the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran to release both Mansour Osanloo and Mahmoud Salehi immediately and unconditionally. Sign the petition

Join the demonstration: the TUC is urging British trade unionists to demonstrate outside the Iranian Embassy in London as part of a worldwide day of action against the repression and harassment of trade unionists in Iran. The demonstration will be held from 12:30 to 1:30pm outside the Iranian Embassy at 16 Prince's Gate, London SW7 1PT. More information
