Solidarity with the people of Paris

Issue date

Message of solidarity from the TUC to the French trade union federations CGT, FO and CFDT, following the 13 October attacks in Paris.

On behalf of the British trade union movement, I extend to you our heartfelt sympathy and solidarity after the appalling events of Friday night in Paris.

Words cannot express our grief and outrage that so many people have been killed and injured in this way.

I know that the French trade union movement will stand strong in the face of these events, and the British trade union movement will stand with you, as you did with us after the London bombings a decade ago.

An injury to one is an injury to all.

Frances O'Grady, TUC General Secretary

"As trade unionists, we represent people of all faiths and no faiths, and we won't be divided", TUC General Secretary Frances O'Grady tells TUC staff, ahead of the minute's silence for the victims of the Paris attacks. 16 November 2015.
