Commenting on today’s (Friday) strike action by Scottish ferry workers against plans to outsource services across the Clyde, Inner Hebrides and Western Isles, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:

“RMT members have our full support today. History has taught us again and again that outsourcing leads to a worse deal for staff and service users.

“If Serco takes over these contracts it would likely mean service cuts, job losses and cost-cutting to generate profits.”
