Without more support, jobs will be lost and businesses will close

Commenting on today's (Monday) renewed tier 3 restrictions, TUC Regional Secretary for London, East and South East England Sam Gurney said:

“This news will be very difficult for struggling sectors such as hospitality and the arts. 

“Without more support from the government, jobs will be lost and businesses will close. 

“Ministers must act quickly and get extra support to the worst-hit industries. Local government needs a funding boost to help manage the impact. And ministers must help families too, by boosting sick pay to a real Living Wage so that people can afford to self-isolate and increasing universal credit.”
