~~Commenting on the launch of a campaign taskforce to promote good working conditions in the cleaning industry by the Equality and Human Rights Commission today (Tuesday), TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:

“This is an important project that should improve working practices in the cleaning sector, and ensure that cleaning operatives are treated with dignity and respect in the workplace.

“The TUC has welcomed the opportunity to participate in this taskforce and to ensure that the opinions of cleaning staff have been taken into account. The launch of the campaign is an important step towards giving issues in this sector the attention they deserve.

“Cleaning operatives who are concerned about their working conditions should join their union to get their voice heard and their interests represented at work.”
