Honda employees launch petition to keep Swindon factory open

What's the issue?

Honda has said that in 2021 it will close the Swindon plant. 3500 direct jobs and possibly 12,000 jobs or more across the country will be lost as a result. The closure of the plant would be devastating not just to the local community and south west economy, but for skills and jobs in the wider supply chain throughout the UK.

But Honda employees believe that this economic and social catastrophe can be averted by giving its loyal dedicated workforce the opportunity to be at the forefront of the global revolution in the next generation of cars.
