Overview

Genuine flexible working can be a win-win for both workers and employers. It can help people balance their work and home lives, manage responsibilities like child care, and is important in promoting equality at work across the board. It can also lead to improved recruitment and retention of workers for employers.

As we emerge from an altered working world, many organisations and union activists will be exploring which aspects of flexible working should be retained and which ones to further enhance. From homeworking, to flexible working hours, flexible working can benefit many workers.

Joining forces with ACAS and Thompsons Solicitors, the TUC will bring trade union reps and officers the latest updates and discussion points on the future of flexible working.

In this networking event, we shall specifically discuss ACAS's recent guidance, TUC's findings and recommendations on the future of flexible working; as well as an update from legal expert Julie Brodie on the rights workers have today.

With guest speakers:

  • Mike Fenn, ACAS Area Director South West
  • Marina Glasgow, ACAS Deputy Chief Conciliator
  • Paul Nowak, TUC Deputy General Secretary
  • Julie Brodie, Thompsons Solicitor
