Access to housing, education, social security, health and food are globally recognised as human rights. Human rights belong to everyone. But, in the UK, wages aren't improving, millions of people are trapped in insecure work, poverty and destitution are on the rise and the housing situation is getting worse. And we all know that the North East is often hit the hardest by damaging government policies and growing levels of inequality.
Come along to hear from Just Fair North East on how international human rights law can give us useful and unique tools to work on issues such as workers' rights, benefits, poverty and non-discrimination and join the conversation about how we can work together to advance social rights and tackle inequality across the North East.
