Overview

For HeartUnions week, we're exploring ways in which regional political leaders can enable better working terms and conditions alongside trade union activism.

A key element of this is the rollout of a Good Employment Charter, which will help ensure good accessible jobs in the West of England (Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire), such as paying the Real Living Wage whilst promoting more inclusive and sustainable business practices.

This online session will explain how this is being achieved, the nature of the Charter and the key standards to enable businesses of any size or sector to improve investment in their staff.

One key element will be effective engagement of staff, best satisfied, in our view, by recognising a trade union.

This is an event for trade union reps interested in developing good employment standards in the region as well as beyond.
