Overview

The coronavirus crisis has put health and safety in the workplace firmly at the forefront of public conscience. For trade unions, it has always been a top priority to protect workers from hazards in the work place - whether that is protection from dangerous chemicals and other physical risks, to raising the profile of work-related stress and poor mental health resulting from workplace pressures.

In this event, we explore and discuss areas of concern in workplace safety during Covid-19, from PPE failures to the disproportionate racial and gender impact on workers. We will also be joined by experts to discuss recent safety updates, the future of flexible working, the rise in mental health, and abuse against frontline workers.
