Overview

Wales TUC are pleased to be holding their second online ULR Conference this November 17th and 18th.

These will be half days run in morning sessions and will include short presentations from guest speakers, staff and workshops being held as part of the agenda.

As always, this conference will allow Reps to share experience and plan future work strategies.

Both days will have differing agendas (to follow) so it is recommended to register for both days, if possible.

Wales TUC are pleased to announce Vaughan Gething MS, Minister for Economy will be addressing WTUC ULR Conference on 17th November.

Wales TUC are pleased to announce that Sue DaCasto and Richard Jackson, Regional Learning Organisers at Unite Wales will be presenting at this years WTUC ULR Conference taking place on the 17th/18th November. Their presentation will take place on the 17th November and will look at how Unite has supported young people through the Kickstart scheme and how union learning can remove barriers to employment. 

Jenny Griffin and Richard Speight from Unison Cymru will be presenting. Their presentation will take place on the 18th and will be highlighting the exceptional work that Unison have done this year through WULF funding, supporting ground-breaking training in Transgender Awareness and earning themselves an award for their work in the recent Learning and Work Institute Inspire Awards.

Wales TUC will be holding two workshops on each morning of the ULR Conference being held 17/18th November. Workshop one will be presented by Angharad Halpin on ‘Organising and Recruitment – Why and How’  and Workshop two is presented by Flick Stock on ‘Learning Surveys – Easy ways to survey your workplace’. Both Angharad and Flick work as Policy and Communication Support Officers at Wales TUC and have extensive knowledge on the role and activities of the ULR.

Claire Savage, Policy Officer at Credit Union Wales. Claire will be introducing the MoneyWorks and MoneyWorks mentors initiative, a scheme that enables employees to save through their payroll via Credit Unions Wales and embed financial wellbeing in the workplace.

Shavanah Taj, General Secretary of Wales TUC will be addressing Wales TUC Union Learning Rep Conference on 18th November. 

Sian Cartwright, National Officer Wales TUC, who has lead responsibility at Wales TUC for Learning and Skills, will be addressing Wales TUC Union Learning Conference on 17th November.
