Overview

Wales TUC Cymru are pleased to invite reps and members from all unions to attend our event marking Black History Month 2019 on Wednesday 16 October.

The event is free to attend and will be held at Unite Wales’ office at 1 Cathedral Road. The briefing will offer an opportunity to learn, network with other reps and guests including our guest speakers and WTUC staff.

Donations

The event is free, but we'll be collecting tinned and canned food for a local food bank. Please bring donations with you.

Lunch

A buffet lunch will be provided. Please inform us of any dietary requirements before the event.

By Car

The venue is at the intersection of Cowbridge Road East (A4161) and Cathedral Road (A4119).

Parking

Parking is not available at 1 Cathedral Road, but there is a council-run car park at Sophia Gardens Car Park (Postcode: CF11 9JU, 284 spaces). It’s approximately 5-7 minutes' walk from the event venue. By Train

The venue is accessible from four rail stations which are all located within a 1-mile radius: Cardiff Central, Parc Ninian/Ninian Park, Cathays and Cardiff Queen Street.

By Bus

Buses operate between Cardiff City Centre and the venue; the nearest bus stop being St David’s Hospital, less than a minute away from the venue. Bus numbers 13, 32A, 61, 66, 96 and X1. The Bus ride from Cardiff City Centre is approximately 5 minutes.

Travel Costs

Reps should check with their own union in advance to see if they are able to help with travel costs. This will depend on the policy of your union. Wales TUC is not able to assist with travel costs.
