A woman's place is not just in her union. It is leading her union.
According to annual statistics published by Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, the rise in trade union numbers among employees in 2019 was driven by the increase in female members, up 170,000 on the year to 3.69 million in 2019. This meant that 2019 saw the highest number of female employees who were trade union members since the government started collecting this data in 1995.
This zoom meeting is inspired by #HeartUnions Week, and will look beyond successful recruitment campaigns, concentrating on campaigns, organising, recruitment and training of reps, and women as leaders in their union - what is being done, and what more can be done?
This event is supported by LESE Women's Rights Committee
