Guest Speaker:  Fathima Hussain, Employment Solicitor for Thompsons Solicitors

Summary of the law on disability discrimination - who is protected? conversation on covers all forms of employment and applies to apprentices, those working under a contract of employment and the self-employed working under a contract personally to do the work.

Fathima Hussain is an Employment Solicitor working for the trade union law firm, Thompsons Solicitors.  She provides legal advice to trade unions and their members, advising on all aspects of employment law, for example unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, wages and TUPE.  

Her litigation work ranges from representing individual members to representing in mass claimant cases, for example she has represented over 750 claimants in a holiday pay claim. Fathima gives lectures to trade union representatives and members on employment law.
