The Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Act is a new law in Wales about working better together and spending money responsibly to deliver public services.
If you are a union representative working in the public sector, you will need to have an understanding of this new Act. Wales TUC is developing a union representative’s course to help you understand the basics and what it means for your workplace.
We would welcome you to join us to pilot the new materials which will help us be able to roll out this vital course to all representatives across the public sector.
The details of the course are as follows:
Social partnership brings together trade unions, employers and Government on areas of shared interest to identify and implement solutions that bring about better outcomes.
This piece of legislation requires that employers in the public sector behave in certain ways, with the emphasis on Wales as a nation of Fair Work. We’ll look at what that means for trade unions and their members during the course and start to develop the skills needed by representatives to help achieve fair Work.
This course will help you to understand the roles of the social partners at work after the provisions of the Act commence in April 2024.
If you would like a place on this course, please complete the application form. We look forward to hearing from you
We want everyone attending TUC events to have a safe and enjoyable experience. If you require any adjustments or assistance to participate at this event, please let us know.
