As part of the Save the NHS - Back the Bill campaign, campaigners will be gathering in towns and cities throughout the UK on Saturday 15 November, which follows a previous campaign day on Saturday 25 October. We will be engaging members of the public to contact their MPs, to ask them to show their support for a free, universal and accountable NHS run for people not profit.
MPs can do this by voting for a parliamentary Bill on 21 November. The National Health Service (Amended Duties and Powers) Bill is a Private Members Bill promoted by Labour MP Clive Efford, seeks to address the most harmful aspects of the Health and Social Care Act introduced by the current government, including reinstating the responsibility of the Secretary of State for ensuring universal healthcare coverage and protecting the NHS from privatisation and a competition-led race to the bottom.
