Overview

An introduction to using data and external analysis to support insourcing campaigns. Learn about tools and resources to help uncover information on outsourcing companies to increase the effectiveness of your campaign.

We will look at finding information on company finances, executive pay and corporate regulatory infringements: for instance, employment tribunal losses, health and safety offences and failure to pay the minimum wage.

We will also explore how this information can be used to strengthen campaigns with outsourced workers.

This webinar is for union officers and activists who organise with outsourced workers. No prior knowledge is required. Attendees with experience of campaigning for insourcing will have the opportunity to share their experience.

The webinar will focus on the campaigns where staff are already outsourced, and the aim is to secure insourcing from the contracting body. However, it will still be relevant where currently ' in-house' staff are under threat of being outsourced.

Webinar will cover

  • Finding information on outsourced company finances
  • Finding information on outsourced company executive pay
  • Finding information on and corporate regulatory infringements using the Violation Tracker database
  • How can this data be used to support campaigns with outsourced workers
  • Signposting to further resources

Confirmed speakers

  • Maia Kirby, outreach coordinator at Good Jobs First on Violation Tracker UK, the UK’s first wide-ranging database of corporate regulatory infringements.
  • Fréa Lockley, lead trainer at Corporate Watch, a research and training group that helps people stand up against corporate power.

This webinar is part of the Our Work Matters campaign, a collaborative joint union campaign led by members of trade unions who represent outsourced workers and supported by the TUC.

Will you take action for fair pay, secure contracts and respect for outsourced workers? We need workers and supporters to work together to build this campaign.
