Support the UN’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence by joining the TUC Northern Women's Group to discuss ending violence against women and girls in the Northern region.

We'll learn about what is being done to make our communities safer and consider what we as trade unionists can do to support these initiatives. 

With a fantastic and varied line up, we'll be joined by: 

• Richinda Taylor, CEO EVA Women’s Aid Middlesbrough - domestic violence and responding to local need.

• Claire Moore, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Lead Middlesbrough Council - Middlesbrough's Safer Streets project. 

• Tony Bennett, Senior Research Fellow, iROWE - addressing the impact of domestic abuse in the workplace: the key role of unions.

• Claire Rodgerson and Taj Khan, Citizens UK - misogyny as a hate crime.

A number of the above sessions will focus on initiatives within the Teesside area. However, the information shared during those sessions will also be useful to those working across the region.
