TUC Northern region has a programme of great events planned for trade unionists across the region.
It is a TUC regional and national priority to highlight discrimination faced by persons with disabilities within and outside the workplace and work across our movement to demand the changes needed to stop it.
In August we are going to be launching a regular disability forum, bringing together trade union reps who face disabilities, people who play an active role within their workplace to campaign or give a voice to workers with disabilities and other supportive or interested reps.
To launch the forum we will be arranging refreshments and a light bite to eat on Monday 14th August between 5pm and 7pm, TUC, Unite Building, John Dobson Street, Newcastle, NE1 8TW.
I would like to invite you therefore to come along and meet our newly elected Chair of the Disability Forum, Dave Allen, hear a presentation about the current work of the TUC around tackling disabilities discrimination, share your own ideas in developing our annual programme of campaigning and activity and help shape the agenda for our equalities conference planned for early 2018.
There will be opportunities to feed into our future plans, hear about how you can get more involved with the TUC and also what support and information we can offer.
