Overview

The government’s Green Paper on industrial strategy set out an ambition to make sure industrial strategy works across places. For the TUC, this means creating and sustaining great jobs in every part of the country.

To help build knowledge of what it takes to deliver this, the TUC is publishing new research on how to deliver regional industrial strategy in three diverse areas: Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley and Norfolk and Suffolk.

Join us as we publish findings in the launch of our new publication, Great Jobs in Great Places: New approaches to regional industrial strategy.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Frances O’Grady, General Secretary, TUC

  • Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy

  • Rebecca Long Bailey, Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy

  • Alan Southern, Co-Director, Heseltine Institute for Public Policy and Practice, University of Liverpool

  • Dr Peter O'Brien, Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies, Newcastle University

  • Stefan Baskerville, Director of Unions and Business, New Economics Foundation

  • Dame Kate Barker, Chair of the Industrial Strategy Commission

  • Michael Jacobs, Director of the IPPR Commission on Economic Justice

Registration opens at 9:30 am, the event begins at 10:00 am.
