About this event: 

The beginning of a new project year is an excellent time to take stock and share what is happening in English and maths learning generally and with unions.

English and maths learning is one of the priority areas for union learning and unions have a great track record in engaging and supporting learners.

To support unions’ work unionlearn is organising a network event to discuss policy updates and trade union literacy and numeracy learning offer and good practice.

The programme includes for the event is:

*   The current state of functional skills reform and union role in the process – Brin Linsell, Ofqua

*   Framework for employers on how to support employees with ESOL needs – Jenny Roden and James Cupper, NATECL

*   Numeracy Challenge and employer engagement – Sally Hilton, National Numeracy

*   Sharing union strategies and innovation – Kirsi Kekki, unionlearn

Union project managers, project workers, union learning reps and learning centres and others interested in supporting English and maths learning are welcome.
