Overview

June 2018 marks the 150th anniversary of the formation of the TUC. 2018 also marks 100 years since some women won the right to vote, and on 7th June 2018 we mark 50 years since the women of Ford Motor Company, in Halewood and Dagenham began their strike for equal pay which led to the introduction of the Equal Pay Act .

This special event with a panel of leading and inspiring women will look at what we have achieved, and what is still to be done . The panel will include:

Frances O Grady, General Secretary of the TUC

Laura Smith, MP for Crewe and Nantwich

Brenda Warrington, Leader of Tameside Council
