USDAW announce plans for TUC Young Workers Month
USDAW have announce the following activity for young workers month:
- A promotional Young Workers’ campaign in the city centre of Plymouth, (i.e. leafleting, raising awareness with members of the public etc).
- The South Wales and Western Divisional Young Workers Committee plans to run a 1 day Young Workers' promotional campaign in their respective workplaces, potentially to also raise awareness within the communities they live in.
- A recruitment drive at Primark Marble Arch, which has a young workforce.
- A presentation followed by a workshop at Eastern Divisional Conference around engaging young workers.
- Retail campaigns in the East and West of Scotland around young workers.
- Mental Health campaigns – an area in which employers are often unsupportive particularly with young workers.
- The North West Divisional Young Workers’ Committee will be carrying out an awareness day at Morrisons Manufacturing site at Gadbrooke Park around engaging young workers within Usdaw. DATE
- Leafleting in Hull city centre and Hull College – promoting the work of the Young Workers Committee and recruiting new members.
- Campaign days in Tesco across the North East division raising awareness about the issues that young workers’ face.
- Running a stall at Hull University, providing union literature.
