Prospect announce plans for TUC Young Workers Month

Prospect will hold their first Young Forum on Sunday 23rd and Monday 24th November, to coincide with young workers month.

Key discussion points for the event will include: 

• Discuss & respond to draft Prospect Young Members Strategy and Motion from National Conference.
• Discuss and highlight Prospect training needs for young members.
• Promote what we need to do to get branches to engage on young people.
• Ideas on how to promote Prospect membership and activity with young people
• Promoting a network of Branch based YPN’s.
• Propose a Prospect Young Members social media strategy.

Prospect will also be launching its youth committee during the month. There will be 8 places on the committee and 4 officer roles:

• Secretary: To prepare/distribute agendas and minutes of previous meetings.
• Chairperson: To chair meetings and ensure that they run to time and that the agenda is followed.
• Vice Chairperson: To take the role of the Chair in their absence.
• Communications Officer: To be involved in the running of the YPN Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts.
