CWU announce plans for TUC Young Workers Month
CWU Youth will be supporting the TUC Young Workers’ Month by:
- Announcing new plans for mentoring of young representatives following a vigorous debate at the CWU’s Annual Conference earlier in the year;
- National Postal Executive Committee will convene in special session with youth activists to discuss and agree how the former can support the latter;
- A union-wide survey of young members will take place to identify their key issues of concern
- A revised and expanded "how to" - guide for senior, older branch officers will be published, to help them engage effectively with young members;
- Systematic region-by-region survey work to identify new young activists will continue
- New youth orientated recruitment literature will be launched, and a competition to design a new youth-engagement poster will take place;
- Fully participating in events organised by the TUC YWF including the Big Youth Debate on 15 November, including (hopefully) a new podcast on the TUC YWF by the Chair, Fern on the CWU website www.cwuyouth.org
