Commenting on Labour’s pledge today (Thursday) to repeal the Transparency of Lobbying, Third Party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Bill, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:

“Britain’s unions will join with charities and campaign groups across the political spectrum in welcoming this pledge to repeal the most controversial and friendless Act of this Parliament.

“The Act does nothing to curb the power of corporate lobbyists, yet hinders free speech, shuts campaign and community groups out of the democratic process and ties unions up in needless red tape.

“All democrats will be celebrating today.”
