The TUC will be running a workshop in Southampton to equip trade union reps and activists with skills to organise migrant and BME workers in workplaces and tackle discrimination at work. This interactive session will explore how discrimination and exploitation that migrants and BME workers frequently face is bad for all workers and the importance of building solidarity to improve pay and conditions for all.
The workshop, the first in a series of three, will examine the challenges to organising migrant and BME workers and develop with participants strategies for overcoming them. It will showcase the range of resources the TUC has developed to support organising and to tackle discrimination.
Workshops will also be held later in the year in Birmingham and Newcastle.
