Schools
Preparing young people for the challenges and opportunities of employment is
increasingly important, especially at a time of rapid change in the world of
work. More young people are also combining work with their studies. Find
out more about TUC speakers, resources and events to introduce young people
about trade unionism.

Working students
More and more students are having to work alongside their studies. Students from poorer backgrounds are more likely to need to work to support themselves and many student jobs tend to be concentrated in low paying sectors of the economy. For more information download the joint TUC-NUS report All Work and Low Pay
If you are a working student visit www.morethanwork.net, the website set up by the National Association of Student Employment Services, the National Union of Students and the TUC to help students in employment. You can also download this leaflet "Students at Work" (PDF)

Building Stronger Unions : Organising The Future
Since its doors opened in 1998 the TUC Organising Academy and its sponsoring unions have recruited and trained more than 250 new union organisers and provided training and support for hundreds of union officers, organisers and staff.
This conference is open for all trade unionists to celebrate and debate the development of organising in the UK. We want your involvement and ideas! What more can unions do to grow?
How do we re-energise and expand our reps and stewards base? How can we turn around private sector union density decline?
Contributors will include: Frances O'Grady, TUC Deputy General Secretary; Paul Mason from BBC's Newsnight; and international union speakers.
The event will be followed by an evening reception.
For further information or to register for this FREE event contact Joanne Adams at the TUC, tel: 020 7467 1361 or email: jadams@tuc.org.uk
