Health and Safety

Employers have a duty to provide a safe working environment for everyone working on their premises, including self-employed contractors working on site. Employers must carry out a risk assessment of work activities. The risk assessment should seek to identify any risks and remove them or to reduce them as far as possible. The employer must write down the results of the risk assessment, do follow-up checks from time to time and take further action if necessary.

For more information on your health and safety rights please go to the Health and Safety Executive website: http://www.hse.gov.uk/workers/index.htm.
