TUC welcomes plans to clamp down on greedy 'no win no fee' lawyers

Responding to plans announced by the Ministry of Justice today (Monday) to clamp down on 'no win no fee' lawyers, TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber said:

'When an employee is discriminated against, it is only right they receive the compensation awarded to them by tribunals. Unions do this for their members without taking a cut.

'But many people face a double whammy of discrimination at work, followed by exploitation at the hands of greedy 'no win no fee' lawyers, who trouser large slices of the victim's compensation.

'The TUC looks forward to working with the Government to help curb the excesses of high street lawyers.'
