TUC statement on Europe ahead of PM's speech
The TUC Executive Committee agreed to issue this statement ahead of David Cameron's speech on Europe in the Netherlands on Friday 18 January 2013. It emphasises the need to defend Social Europe and workers' rights.
Call for Ratification of ILO Domestic Workers Convention

A decent job? DFID fails the TUC's Decent Work test
To mark the World Day for Decent Work, the TUC is releasing A decent job?': a report assessing the Department for International Development's (DFID) efforts to secure decent jobs for the world's poor. DFID scores just 25 out of 56 points based on criteria developed from the International Labour Organisation's Decent Work Agenda.

Aid effectiveness needs decent work and private sector regulation says TUC
At the end of November, governments will gather in Busan, South Korea, to discuss aid effectiveness. The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) is pressing for a conclusion that promotes pro-poor growth and favours working people, and TUC General Secretary has written to Andrew Mitchell, Secretary of State for International Development, urging him to back union arguments for accountable employers and decent work.

This is an unparalleled opportunity for trade unions and organisations interested in Decent Work all around the world to join a broad global mobilisation involving a large number of people and a wide range of activities.
