TUC disappointed by failure to end UK's long hours culture
Responding today (Tuesday) to the breakdown of talks between Ministers and MEPs on working time that resulted in the UK keeping its opt-out of the Working Time Directive, TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber said:
Time to take on the working time myths
As the European Commission and European Parliament get ready for a mediation meeting to resolve their differences on the future of the Working Time Directive (WTD), the TUC has today (Monday) published ten myths about working time that it believes have had too much influence on the debate so far.

Commenting on the lack of agreement to end the UK's opt-out of the working time directive at a conciliation meeting last night (Wednesday) between MEPs and employment Ministers, TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber said:
